Engineered flooring is designed to give you a real wood look and feel while reducing the issues that can occur with a solid product. It still has all the properties of real wood but is constructed by placing a very thick veneer on top of a more stable board such as HDF or Plywood. This allows the wood to expand and contract much better in the modern house. Due to the new heating systems a solid product can struggle to adapt with the very quick changes in temperature due to the radiators and lack of moisture in the air. So the engineered board helps to alleviate cracking, joint separation and shrinkage due to its stability and flexibility.
